An All-Day Hollywood Restaurant and Its Cocktail Bar Sister

The good news: This place has billiards, a library and duck confit cocktails.

The bad: You’ll need to go home eventually.

Talking about Jane Q and Ever Bar, a luminous restaurant with an upstairs bar where you can hang out all day in Hollywood, now open at the new Kimpton Everly.

They’re both bright, light-flooded spaces encircled with giant windows and modern furniture that wouldn’t look out of place in an upmarket DTLA loft. And they work well together. Here’s how your agenda might play out…

9:34am: You pop into Jane Q for a LaMill coffee and Nutella croissant before your morning shoot at Sunset Gower Studios. Or you’ll get the duck confit monkey bread with a Sicilian Café (amaro, chilled espresso and tonic). We’ll never tell.

3:22pm: Things went well. Now you’re up in Ever Bar, shooting a little pool, looking down Argyle through the glass and having a Bone Thighs & Harmony with shochu, Grand Marnier, pomegranate and duck confit bone broth. It was the name, not the additional duck confit.

4:50pm: You’re seated comfortably in the bar’s library with a Rusty Nail, reading some nonsense on your phone.

7:06pm: Your full party assembles for dinner. Black garlic knots, avocado parfait and forest mushroom pizza ensue.

7:07pm: The night drifts slowly towards madness…
