Let’s see, we’ve got the upper hand on the burrito front for sure. 70-degree days in February. Snoop. Even our pizza game has stepped up.

We win.

Oh, except for bagels. We don’t excel in bagels.

But all that’s about to change thanks to Wise Sons Bagel & Bakery. It’s open right now on Fillmore, it looks like this, and, yes, the bagels are quite magical.

These are real-deal, actually-boiled bagels courtesy of the guys who took it upon themselves to revitalize the San Francisco deli scene (we’re looking at you, pastrami fries).

And they’ll be serving their glorious rounds in this bright, shiny bakery space complete with smooth wooden tables and high stools that are perfect for perching on while digging into a bagel sandwich topped with smoked salmon or egg and pastrami sausage. Here, take a look at this menu while you’re thinking about pastrami sausage.

It may also behoove you to try their schmears that range anywhere from smashed avocado to organic almond butter.
