Llamita: Peruvian Sandwiches and Papaya Smoothies in the West Village

Description

The next time you’re in the West Village and in need of a tasty AF rotisserie chicken sanguche, there’s Llamita: a Peruvian sandwich shop and specialty food store from the chefs behind (Michelin Bib Gourmand-acclaimed) Llama Inn.

It’s a fast casual concept, with an interior inspired by the work of Ayacucho textile artisans, art by Peruvian artists on the walls and room for about fifteen people to enjoy ribeye-charred onion-gruyere sandwiches and papaya, strawberry and beet smoothies. In fact, the menu’s got a long list of unique sandwich options: pork shoulder-sweet potato-salsa criolla, chicken thigh-pineapple-bacon-avocado, duck sausage-chimichurri to name a few.

And don’t sleep on the grab-and-go area—which has things like prepared sausages, tamales and fish to take home, serve to guests and pretend you’ve got culinary skills.

Llamita, now open, 80 Carmine St (between Varick and Bedford)
