Nothing to See Here, Just the Bay Area’s First Nobu

Description

The first Northern California outpost of Nobu has just opened in Palo Alto.

Cool. We good here?

Okay, maybe we should elaborate a bit.

Because, yes, that most beloved home of power lunches and first dates has finally arrived inside of the Epiphany Hotel looking exactly like this.

You’ll enter with bated breath into a smaller-scale version of the other sprawling Nobus, noting the minimalist wood panel walls and off-white canvas everywhere. You’ll then be escorted to your table in the dining room or out on the covered patio.

Patio table clearly chosen, peruse the extensive menu and opt in for some classics like yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño, plus newer items like the ribeye with truffle butter sauce. Or better yet, some sashimi tacos with tuna, lobster, ribeye or vegetables. Probably not that last one.

And, of course, you’ll want to pair all of that with one of their carefully selected sakes or a Piña Martini with pineapple vodka, pineapple purée and lime.

Breakfast: also an option. Lunch: of course. Room service: …

We probably should’ve led with room service.
