Description

Kismet.

It means “fate.”

Sometimes it means you’re about to eat a lot of lamb belly and rabbit.

We’ll let you decide the most appropriate definition at, yes, Kismet, an all-day, Middle Eastern–inspired inlet from Madcapra’s owners (with an assist from the Animal team), now open in Los Feliz. Here’s a look around and here’s a menu.

This sunny, blond-on-white rectangle is super clean, right down to the cooking. See for yourself once you make your way in for brunch with friends staying in town a few doors down at Hotel Covell. And for dinner with dates after seeing what’s new across the street at Wacko. And maybe with other people at other times. We won’t pry.

Daytime will coincide nicely with an eggy shakshuka or the assortment of tiny dishes found in their Turkish-“ish” breakfast, backed by as many glasses of strong coffee as one needs to regain consciousness.

As for nighttime, it will be grounds for sitting down to soju punch with lamb belly, Barbari bread and, if the occasion feels right, the rabbit feast for two.

Occasions like having another person willing to eat rabbit with you, for instance.
