Description

This weekend’s forecast: Rain, more rain, and maybe a little more rain.

Next week’s forecast: Clear skies and a 100% chance of Scott Conant’s spaghetti pomodoro.

At the Ponte, a welcoming new Italian spot that just happens to have a James Beard winner behind your pasta, wood-fired pizzas and dry-aged steak, opening Tuesday on Beverly. Feast your eyes on it here.

The former Terrine now has a bit of a Corleone-family-home vibe to it, with confession-booth screens, distressed Tuscan walls and a shrine of ancestral heirlooms suspended overhead. It’s quite magical inside. But you’ll still have your heart set on that patio which remains romance incarnate.

Bring dates and friends in for casual evenings that begin with Barbera picked by a 17-year Valentino sommelier and barman Ryan Wainwright’s own yuzu limoncello and mezcal negronis. Take time between your foie gras-and-duck agnolotti, smoked-mozzarella-and-prosciutto pizza and dry-aged steak to get to know your neighbors a little bit.

If the initial explorations go well, you may even wish to send some amaro over to their table before asking them to join your table as you linger on into the night.

They totally look like amaro people.
