“There’s no good Korean food on the Westside.”
—Person who’s about to be proven extremely wrong.

Now that there’s Korean Super, your friendly neighborhood purveyor of brisket dips and short rib poutine, open now in West LA.

This mini-market of significant goodness comes from Hanjip/Escala instigator Chris Oh. He’s turned the former Seoul Sausage space into a small epicenter of packaged ramen, Korean chips, sodas and various meats and banchan for you to bring home or out on the street.

Or if you’d prefer to eat in, there are some pretty crazy cross-cultural dishes you could indulge in here. Like that short rib poutine with kimchi onions and crema we mentioned. And roasted pork sandwiches that you dip into tonkotsu ramen broth. And a damn near psychedelic rice bowl of polychromatic fish roe and uni. The colors. Oh, the colors.

You can even try your hand at this chef stuff yourself. Choose a flavor of instant ramen from the shelves and they’ll prepare it for you with your choice of toppings, which include things like pork belly, SPAM and foie gras.

You really do your best work in ramen.
