A new shop of oddities, curiosities, art and lunchboxes has opened in Inner Richmond from an owner who’s now parting with the very collectibles her father spent a lifetime amassing. Oh, and the months have themes. October is “Spooky,” November is “Old Timey” and December is “Sci Fi.” At least October makes sense.
In an attempt to make going to the laundromat not just tolerable, but enjoyable, Laundré has opened in a clean, high-ceilinged space with plenty of room for work, wi-fi and a café with Sightglass coffee and packaged food. Typical laundromat stuff.
That gem of a cocktail bar, the Douglas Room, has started a Throwback Thursday party with DJs, an all-night happy hour menu with $5 Fort Points and $5-$15 bar bites and homemade ZIMAs with Lo-Fi dry vermouth and either gin or vodka. Nope, you’re not done with ZIMA yet.
Lower Nob Hill has a new Mexican option in the form of Chisme Cantina that’s serving tacos on tortillas flown in from… Chicago. They’ve also got homemade sangria, coconut horchata and local beers like Barebottle’s California Cologne. And Chicago tortillas in case you missed that part.
On Saturday, since you’ll already be on your way to the park, head to Dolores Park Café for their 20th anniversary celebration featuring pitchers of beer, burgers grilled on the patio, live music and “treats for guests.” You love a good mystery treat.
