A Damn Fine Suburban Pizzeria Sets Up Shop in the City

Since 1995, Nick’s has been cranking out crispy crusts topped with anything from taco fixings to three different types of meat. And as fate would have it, the Crystal Lake pizzeria has just brought those well-honed skills to Lincoln Square. Welcome to the big city, Nick.

Friday
Goodbye, the Betty. Hello, Emporium Fulton Market.

GAME ON

Goodbye, the Betty. Hello, Emporium Fulton Market.

It’s out with the old and in with the new at Fulton Market. The old: cocktail haunt the Betty. The new: the forthcoming third Chicago location of Emporium arcade bar that comes with all the indoor street art and canned beer you’ve come to expect from those guys. Which hopefully is a lot.

Just a Turkish-Slipper Cocktail Party

SLIDE ON IN

Just a Turkish-Slipper Cocktail Party

Sabah, purveyors of fine Turkish slippers, is taking over the lobby of the Robey all weekend with a pop-up. It kicks off Friday with a cocktail party, where you can drink gratis beer and be fitted for the new fall line. You know your closet has been missing autumnal loafers.

Saturday
A Quintessential Fall Craft Beer Festival

BEER HERE

A Quintessential Fall Craft Beer Festival

BeerHoptacular returns for its seventh year to satisfy all your suds-related needs. It has everything you expect, like a couple dozen local breweries and a handful of food trucks. Plus some new things, like the Infusion Lounge featuring four beers infused with fresh ingredients right before your eyes. So that’s different.

Sunday
Two Restaurants. One Massive Dinner.

DOUBLE DOWN

Two Restaurants. One Massive Dinner.

Dinner of tuna poke and shrimp bruschetta at GT Fish & Oyster is nice. Dinner of steak tarter and Bigoli pasta Bolognese at GT Prime is nice, too. Both dinners back-to-back is… better. A new, progressive, 11-course menu lets you eat at both sister restaurants in one night. Glad we could work this problem out together.

What Else Is New
Sarah Freeman

Sarah Freeman is often accused of hiding secrets in her hair. She can make any cocktail, as long as that cocktail is a rye Old Fashioned, and has never met a saison she didn’t like.
