THE ONE WHO HAWKS
It was a rough couple of weeks without Nighthawk and its gin-spiked Froot Loops milk and banh mi micheladas. But the breakfast-fixated bar is back now, reopening Thursday just a few blocks from the beach in Venice. And you get the feeling things are going to be different this time.

UNDER THE BRIDGE DOWNTOWN
A 20-foot screen is being set up under Broadway Bridge to accommodate outdoor screenings of No Country for Old Men on Friday and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari on Saturday, accompanied by a live electronic jazz score. These will be the weekend’s only sub-bridge screenings.
