Drinking wine: it’s pretty fun. Thinking about what wine to drink: not quite so much. Fortunately, Perks is doing the thinking for the both of you, hooking you up with six bottles of a little Spanish gem called the 2014 “Tres Picos” Garnacha. Wine Spectator placed it in their Top 100 Wines of 2016. But it hasn’t let success go to its head.
HOMEWARD BOUND
Sometimes you just want a sandwich that’s loaded with things like brie and fig jam, or tri-tip and blue cheese, or bacon, egg and not-blue cheese, or anything you’ll find at Homegrown, really. It’s from Seattle, it’s now open in the FiDi, and that got somewhat specific.

Here’s a huge sale at Iron and Resin filled with henleys and army jackets and boardshorts that you could really use for that surf trip to Sayulita. Though we’d imagine it would work for other types of trips, too.
BUENOS DIAS
Chilaquiles with braised beef and guacamole. Churros with Mexican chocolate. Life-affirming morning-after elixirs. Such are the things you’ll find at Flores’s new brunch. But it can’t help you if you don’t let it.
FOR THE RECORD
This weekend may or may not feel like one where you should drink beer, eat barbecue and listen to a bunch of punk albums at the record swap thing that Speakeasy is having. But if it does, there you go.
SCOUT’S HONOR
A beer flight at Magnolia: great. A beer flight at Magnolia paired with Girl Scout cookies: greater. We see no reason to further complicate the matter.
Lauren Sloss requires a climate that allows her to wear motorcycle boots daily. She likes her bourbon neat and her martinis dirty, and would like to be the lead singer of a punk rock band when she grows up.
