Description

You want to get away.

Someplace no one would ever think to find you.

But somewhere you’ll… still see the Manhattan skyline, which remains occasionally breathtaking and all that.

Grab a weekender bag and abscond to The Brooklyn, an oasis of a hotel opening Tuesday in the far-off but not-too-far-off land of Bed-Stuy.

Here’s most, if not all, of what you should know:

You’ll enter a lobby with not not-European vibes.
Think bright, exposed brick, wooden pillars. You’ll make for the espresso machine by the bar, and make some pick-me-up requests. Behind you, check what’s happening on a few flat-screens. You turn back, and—

In a twist of fate, the espresso counter will have become a bar.
You’ll be shocked. But then, you won’t be. Martinis it is.

Let’s talk about that shower…
It’s in your presidential suite. It’s where glass doors slide open to an enormous shower, where water rains down from the entire ceiling. Dim the lights. Turn on the misting option. And if you happen to be with a few friends, well, you’ll all fit in just fine.

And in a few months, a rooftop’s happening.
A glass-enclosed, 360-view-of-the-skyline sort of rooftop. It’ll be a mellow lounge situation.

So, the opposite of your shower.
