We can’t just tell you dress shoes are better when they’re handmade; when a craftsman had to painstakingly cut, shape and burnish each piece of leather; when he had to gingerly hammer in the sole that took days to create. That’s one of those things you just have to feel to believe.
THE POOL
The nearly-5,000-square-foot rooftop beach at Dream Downtown is once more open. So if you’re into tuna poke, pitchers of spiked ginger slushies, imported white sand and generally pretending you’re not in the middle of Manhattan, it might be for you. The local sand just isn’t up to par.
THE SAMPLE SALE-ING

THE ALL-NIGHTER
Have a drink. Listen to tunes from Moniker, Castelli and model-DJ Ashley Smith. Observe circus performers. Stare at 3D-mapped visuals that make you feel like you’re dancing in the middle of the majestic seas. Do so until dawn.
THE DECADENCE
This will involve 12 sweet and savory chocolate-infused dishes, 12 chocolate-forward drinks mixed by the likes of Pam Wiznitzer, chocolate spirit samples and… some meat and cheese.
