A Brewpub Where Yusho’s Chef Makes You Snacks

A Brewpub Where Yusho’s Chef Makes You Snacks

Description

Last week, the Cubs clinched the NL Central.

This week, a new brewpub is opening on the Northwest side with plenty of TVs, cushioned chairs and one hell of a cheeseburger.

Coincidence?

See for yourself at Old Irving Brewing Co., a neighborhood beer hall in a former metalworking warehouse where you’ll watch the game and quench your thirst for beer with lots and lots of beer. It opens later this week in Irving Park, and here the slideshow comes now.

You should know two things forthright: 1) Chef Matthias Merges (of Yusho fame) is responsible for your pig’s feet croquettes, smoked ham hock stew and wood-fire-grilled bacon cheeseburger. 2) Beer.

Regarding that second thing…

You’ll either set up camp in the bar area or, if you’re into competitive bag-throwing, the adjacent beer hall with mahogany tables and ample room for cornhole.

Inevitably, you’ll require something cold and frothy to pair with all of that. Of their 12 taps, half are from fellow Chicago breweries. The other half are brewed on-site, and include a citrusy IPA and a milk stout called the Precinct.

It’s meant to taste like coffee and donuts.
