Rumor has it, you do most of your drinking at sea level.

Understandable. Geography being what it is.

But there’s a better way.

A Balinese-garden-overlooking-the-entirety-of-Brickell kind of way.

Take the elevator straight on up to Sugar, an open-air garden oasis for Asian tapas and Sesame Slings located 40 stories above the ground, now open at East, Miami in Brickell. Here’s the slideshow.

And here’s the breakdown:

—There’s nothing but open sky here, so be prepared to make your exit should the rain gods decide to crash the party. Silly rain gods.

—The idea: a Balinese garden with a bar toward the back and plenty of intimate nooks nestled amongst trees and shrubbery for imbibing with a date. That’s the idea.

—Speaking of imbibing, the Sesame Sling with gin, sesame, hibiscus and mango is a viable option. As is the rye-and-Thai-iced-tea concoction they’re calling the Sweet Life.

—The edible things skew toward the Asian tapas side. Lamb and beef satay. Crispy tandoori squid. Stuff like that.

—Should rain happen, take cover in the loving arms of the bar at Quinto La Huella down on the fifth floor.
