It’s a casual place to eat things created by an Irish chef and drink things created by one of the owners of Hopscotch, and it’s opening as soon as next week in Jack London Square. Here’s the slideshow.
Entering on either side of the central bar, you’ll notice the requisite amount of exposed brick and a few tables made from repurposed wine barrels. You’ll sit down at one and make some type of remark like “I enjoy whiskey.”
Your server will say that you’re in the right place and gingerly direct your attention to the extensive whiskey list. Perhaps you’ll take it neat. Perhaps you’ll opt for a Rob Roy or a Shamrock Shake with soft-serve, crème de menthe, whiskey and fernet.
And, no, you’re not getting out of this without a traditional Irish breakfast consisting of black and white pudding, Irish pork sausage, Irish bacon, eggs and boxty (basically Irish potato pancakes). You can order that any time of day or night, by the way.
Whiskey with breakfast: suddenly way more socially acceptable.
