Velvet, Purple Gnocchi and a Wine Patio in Brickell

Velvet, Purple Gnocchi and a Wine Patio in Brickell

Average Reviews

Description

A new Financial District funhouse with a 100-deep wine list opening the day before your taxes are due.

Coincidence?

Probably.

But a damn good one.

The Arketekt is currently soft-open, and you may now witness its many splendors via this conveniently placed slideshow.

This is from the people behind Speakeasy Bar and Aficionados Brickell. There’s a vintage cigar room vibe that lends itself quite well to sitting a spell in a velvet armchair and swirling something red.

Unlike anywhere else in Miami, their wines are served by the half bottle in decanters, which is pretty splendid. But cocktails exist here, too. So ordering your date a Dean Martin’s Penicillin with whiskey, lemon juice, ginger liqueur and a lemon twist is a classic and strong move. Escorting them to the outdoor patio: also classic. Also strong.

And those scents wafting from the kitchen? Those are from the La Cofradia and River Oyster Bar guys. You’ll enjoy what they’ve done with the small plates. Particularly the shrimp a la plancha with avocado crema and quail egg tartare.

That’s not to say you should skip the purple gnocchi with gorgonzola, though. Or the other 99 wines.

All in due time, dear child. All in due time.
