Where to Dance and What to See at Miami Music Week

Maybe you like EDM. Maybe you like DJs. Maybe you like sitting in lounge chairs by pools while looking at people who like EDM and DJs.

Whatever your interests may be, you’ll find a little and a lot of them as Miami Music Week, already in progress, does its thing throughout the city this weekend.

And since you look like you could use a quick primer on which events you need to hit up, here comes one of those now.

The Wynwood Rave
It’s called Dim Mak Miami, but you’ll refer to it as the place Steve Aoki hurls cake at people in the creepy old RC Cola Plant overrun with graffiti in Wynwood. You’ll get there after dark and you’ll most likely leave just before the sun comes up. You’ll definitely be covered in cake.

The DJ’s Birthday Bash
What does it look like when a DJ celebrates his birthday during the biggest DJ week in the U.S.? You’ll have to go to Erick Morillo’s birthday bash at Ora to find out. Probably a safe bet that music and dancing will be involved.

The Best Kind of Shitshow
You’ll go to Space during Music Week, because that’s just what you do. You’ll see things. Lots of things. Things you can’t unsee. Things you won’t want to unsee, like Maceo Plex and Black Madonna on the terrace as the sun comes up.

The Pool Party
Here’s your obligatory Sunday Music Week pool party. Dial it down a few notches at Anjuna Beach at 1 Hotel while bobbing your head around to the sounds of ALPHA 9. And swimming. There will also presumably be swimming.

The Farewell Party
If by some chance you’re still feeling it on Sunday night, head to Benny Benassi’s closing party at Wall. Have a few vodka drinks and consider this your last dance until next year. We’ll assume you won’t be working on Monday. Or Tuesday, for that matter.
