Meet Cherry Point and Hail Mary

Meet Cherry Point and Hail Mary

Average Reviews

So much to cover today, we’re just going to get to covering. Two places you need to know about: Cherry Point, a charmer of a neighborhood spot from a man who used to call the Spotted Pig home, and Hail Mary, a deceptively large, florally inclined diner takeoff. Both are now open in Greenpoint. Breakdowns follow: Cherry Point Is where you’ll come for: first dates with the foodie-inclined. We recommend drinking the: Cherry Point Sour—an elegant (it applies here) mixture of smoked scotch, lemon and red wine. We recommend eating the: definitely start with some chicken-and-ramp boudin blanc from the charcuterie menu (full menu here), and the labneh cheese with tekka, mint, honey and grilled bread. From there, maybe ease back into reality with a steak frites au poivre. We recommend grabbing the table: in the front corner, next to the window. Maximum charm. It and its consumables look like: this. Hail Mary Is where you’ll come for: a low-key weeknight dinner with a few friends. We recommend drinking the: root beer float. They’re working on the booze component right now, but check the slideshow below for the reason you want to try the root beer float. We recommend eating the: hot fried chicken or grilled half duck (full menu here). Good rule: if it’s poultry, it’ll be good. If it’s not, probably still. Hence our further recommending the sundae of mochi, marshmallows, black sesame brittle and housemade sprinkles. We recommend grabbing the table: well, any of the tall four-tops in the back beneath the skylight, as the days grow longer. It and its consumables look like: this. Yeah, believe it or not, sprinkles aren’t a naturally occurring food item.
