POP STAR
Champaneria Kharma. Those words may not mean much to you. Until, that is, we tell you that it’s a new pop-up at Bloodhound involving casual and delicious things like tortilla espanola-inspired sandwiches with queso and pimento, each of which can be paired with a $5 glass of prosecco. Then it probably means dinner.
NIGHT MOVES
A new restaurant has just arrived in Inner Sunset with a chef who’s worked at a two Michelin-starred restaurant and traditional Himalayan/Indian plates like roasted cumin chicken with cilantro and ginger, plus seasonal prix fixe dishes like Atlantic salmon with burnt cucumber and citrus relish. Just in case you were wondering.
SOL SEARCHING
The Startup Art Fair is about to completely transform the Hotel Del Sol into a gallery space. The courtyard will become one large sculpture garden, each room will be turned into its own art exhibit and, yes, there will be drinks by the pool bar. So, way better than a museum.
JAZZED UP
The former South space in the SF Jazz Center has been overhauled and risen anew as B-Side. It’s a comfy new cocktail lounge and restaurant with uncomplicated drinks and crowd-pleasing food like fried chicken sandwiches and burgers with crispy cheese and pickled onions. Change is good.
PLAY DATE
Coin-Op, that handsome barcade with all the pierogies and Old Fashioneds, has launched free play (yes, that’s where all of the machines are set to free play) every last Sunday of the month. And, hey, this Sunday happens to be exactly that. Thanks, fate.
