The Standard, East Village combines a glass high-rise with a more intimate street-level entrance on Cooper Square. Its guest rooms look across Lower Manhattan through large windows, while the public spaces extend into a garden that gives the property a quieter side despite its downtown location. On-site dining, drinks, and seasonal outdoor service make the hotel useful as both a place to stay and a neighborhood meeting point. From the property, guests can walk to the East Village, NoHo, Greenwich Village, Union Square, and several subway lines. The design retains the Standard brand’s social character but operates on a smaller scale than the High Line property. It is well suited to visitors who want downtown access with a more residential neighborhood atmosphere.
