Description

Later this week, you’ll willingly ingest more green things than are likely advised.

Tonight, you’ll ingest things the way nature intended: fished fresh from the sea, right damn next to a pool and an ocean.

At Lightkeepers, your new spot for coastal deliciousness and plenty of alfresco gin, now open at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne. Check it out.

Should you and your date be able to pull yourselves away from the stunning views of the Atlantic long enough, find a seat inside at a cream-colored leather booth. Or, better yet, on the outdoor terrace under an umbrella. The second one. Definitely the second one.

Gentle breeze in your hair, you’ll know what to do from there. Which is to say, drink something. The cocktail list comes complete with a history lesson for each of its Florida-inspired libations. For instance, you’ll learn that the El Farito (gin, lime, mint, cranberry) is a nickname for the Key Biscayne lighthouse. Fun.

Have one, then dive into some grilled Spanish octopus with cherry tomatoes and charcoal potatoes. The fish is all locally sourced. The goat cheese in the tomato fondue hails from Winter Park. The Palmetto Creek pork’s smoked chorizo comes from Ocoee.

The key lime cheesecake probably doesn’t need an explanation.
