Lamano: A West Village Beauty for Spanish Tapas and Cava Sangria

Description

From the team behind Ofrenda, Temerario and also the Chelsea restaurant with the exact same name and concept…here comes the second outpost of Lamano: a trendy sort of spot doing modern Spanish tapas, sangria and other things you like consuming. It’s now open in the West Village.

Things here are done well. It’d be weird if they weren’t, with this team behind them. Dates, friend outings, any time you want to come with someone and talk weekend plans over sangria and a million delicious food-items: all solid reasons to find yourself here. Here being a handsome space of black glazed bricks, wooden tables and rows and rows of Spanish wine.

Speaking of, a bottle of Spanish wine could be the move. They’ve got a more-than-decent selection (check it out yourself)—but if you’re sticking with sangria, make it of the cava variety—that’s got orange, green apple, grapefruit liqueur, strawberries.

Now on to the food, which is divvied up for your scanning and choosing convenience. Do a couple from each section—maybe start with the figs with serrano ham and salmon tartare with piquillo aioli. Tomato and garlicky olive oil-rubbed bread is always a good idea. Then make your way into the main event, ie. a bunch of small events like stuffed piquillo peppers, basque spiced sausage and truffle oil-topped potato confit with caramelized onions.

When all’s said and done you’ll want it to look a hell of a lot like slide 16.
