The Restaurant Opening You’ve Been Waiting for All Year
Under normal circumstances, we wouldn’t dare deploy such a flagrantly bombastic word as “transcendent” upon you.
But since this isn’t a normal circumstance, here goes nothing…
You’re in for a transcendent dining experience sometime in the very near future.
At SingleThread, the highly anticipated, now-open restaurant/farm/inn near Healdsburg Square. We’ll give you a moment.
It’s a restaurant with five well-appointed guestrooms. It’s a five-acre farm near the Russian River. It’s also the creation of husband-and-wife team Kyle and Katina Connaughton. He’s a fine-dining chef and she’s a farmer. It’s all making sense now, isn’t it?
It certainly will when you arrive for your dinner reservation, likely for a special occasion and definitely with a lovely companion. Your evening begins on the restaurant’s rooftop with canapés and a tour of the greenhouse. You’ll take in the view of the surrounding country. It’s a nice country.
Then, head downstairs to the stately 55-seat dining room, where you’ll settle in with a view of the open kitchen for one of three 11-course tasting menus driven by the farm’s bounty, inspired by Japanese kaiseki and served on custom-made dishware from eighth-generation Japanese potters.
There may be abalone. There will likely be foie gras. There will definitely be wine from one of two tastings showcasing local varietals.
So relax and let the experience wash over you before heading upstairs to your ready-and-waiting suite.
