The World’s Best Restaurants: Basically All Here

Description

Lot of great restaurants out there in the world.

Good thing they’re all about to be combined into one.

Kind of. See, In Situ is now open for lunch at the SFMOMA. It’s Corey Lee’s new place, and he’s allowing you to sample recreated dishes from some of the earth’s most lauded dining establishments. Which is pretty fair.

First, take a look at what you’ll be walking into. Nice, right? You’d expect nothing less from Chef Lee, he of Benu and Monsieur Benjamin fame.

But again, he’s also taking things a bit further here by recreating dishes from restaurants like the French Laundry, Noma, Husk, Momofuku and wd~50. Places you may have been to and loved. Cue the menu.

And all of this is happening in a place that basically feels like an art gallery, from the wood-paneled ceiling to the collection of framed paintings by Tucker Nichols. There’s a big communal table, too.

Perhaps you’ll eat brown oyster stew there with a large group from the office. Perhaps you’ll pop in for a tomato-and-basil tart with ketchup fried rice in the lounge before taking in the California and the West exhibition upstairs. And perhaps when dinner happens soon, you’ll have other plans.

Like eating different things.
