There are clear advantages to spending your weekends in Vegas.
Like never, ever encountering anything called a “bomb cyclone.”
And perhaps more importantly, having a steady supply of steak au poivre burgers during your poker games.
Those are supplied by Black Tap, New York’s wildly popular house of big burgers and legally insane milkshakes, now open aside the Venetian’s poker room.
Even by Sin City standards, this space is pretty wild. The whole pop-art-slathered luncheonette is filled with neon, from old beer signs to electric lips to a bunch of glowing boomboxes and tapes. It shouldn’t be hard shepherding your friends in here for heightened debauchery.
First order of business, hit the stand-alone CrazyShake bar. There you’ll watch someone construct a milkshake you can barely identify behind all the candy covering it. Perhaps you’ll get a round of Cake Batter shakes. Then request the addition of booze. To which they’ll comply.
Take them out to the patio and start thinking of a burger you may want to know better. Like the Mexico City burger with pickled jalapeños. Or that steak au poivre burger with blue cheese and green peppercorn sauce.
There’s also a wagyu burger. That’s called the Greg Norman.
Add a cocktail and feel free to call it the John Daly.
