            A Celebration-Worthy Bottle of Champagne

Times you’ll want a fine bottle of champagne on hand to celebrate: when landing a new client… when
christening a boat… when scoring a bottle of 2005 Bollinger “La Grande Année” Brut Champagne. Luckily, we got you the inside
track on this highly sought-after bottle courtesy of Wired For Wine. How serendipitous.

RYE TIMES

            It’s a Whiskey-Infused Pork Sandwich

Clark Street Bread is now open at Grand Central Market. Which is delightful news on its own. Then you
realize they have a roast pork sandwich on Danish rye infused with Redemption rye whiskey, plus
whiskey-infused pickles and mustard. And the gravity of the situation really sinks in.

Thursday

OF RICE AND MEN

Biryani Needed Its Own Day. Thus...

It’s hard to find good biryani, that illustrious South Asian rice dish, in this town. Well, discounting
the eight different varieties served every Thursday at Spice Affair with ingredients like shrimp, goat, eggs
and halibut. Other than that, so hard.

RISE OF THE MACHINES

Harley vs. Indian: Pick a Side, Any Side

It’s a venerable battle of American-made motorcycles about to be played out in the Petersen’s new
exhibit of classic bikes. And you can see it first on Thursday with Icelandic beer, DJs and a Q&A at the
opening reception. At least the nation agrees that beer is good.

Saturday

ACT OF ODD

Odd Market Gets an Ocean View

Saturday. You’re on the Santa Monica Pier, thinking things look pretty different. To begin, there’s Odd
Market hanging out with 75 pop-ups slinging food and vintage art, music and clothes. Or maybe it’s
something with the light.

YAMA CHAMELEON

Happy Hours. They Happen Late at Night, Too.

Yamashiro is a great place to wind down an evening. Especially since it has this new late-night happy hour
in its lounge where comestibles like pork spring rolls, truffle hamachi sushi and mai tais will only be
seven bucks. The super-dramatic emperor’s castle vibe also helps. Some.

Hadley Tomicki lives in Los Angeles. He is probably going nowhere on the 10 Freeway this very second.
