Drinking wine: it’s pretty fun. Thinking about what wine to drink: not quite so much. Fortunately, Perks is doing the thinking for the both of you, hooking you up with six bottles of a little Spanish gem called the 2014 “Tres Picos” Garnacha. Wine Spectator placed it in their Top 100 Wines of 2016. But it hasn’t let success go to its head.
THE TAXIDERMY
This is like if you took the Commodore, moved it to rural Vermont, threw in some ursine taxidermy, wood-paneled walls, leather booths and arcade games, then plied the locals with tiki-themed Hurricanes and Alabama-white-sauce smoked-chicken sandwiches.
THE QUALITY EATS–INSPIRED DONUT
As part of a new ongoing series, the Doughnut Project will now be creating limited-release donuts inspired by their favorite restaurant dishes. This week, we’ve got a Quality Eats–inspired jalapeño-apple-filled donut topped with peanut butter glaze and Nueske’s bacon. Get ’em while they’re weird.

A little background: known as the First Lady of Flute, Bobbi Humphrey was the first woman signed to Blue Note Records. She then recorded with Lee Morgan and Stevie Wonder, and was sampled by Will Smith and the Roots. Great, now cancel your plans for Saturday, because she’s performing at Marcus Samuelsson’s underground Prohibition-themed bar, and nothing else you’ve got planned is going to top it.
