Mandarin Oriental Bangkok

Description

Fresh off the hotel’s $90 million renovation, the largest renovation in its 143-year history, it’s hard to come up with something the swank Mandarin Oriental on the banks of the Chao Phraya river in Bangkok doesn’t have. Spectacular views? Check. 11 outstanding bars and restaurants to choose from? Check. A lobby with soaring ceilings and double high windows? Yep. How about floor butlers, tennis courts, outdoor pools, a fitness center with private classes, a yoga studio and a Thai cooking school? They’ve got all that too. As the oldest luxury hotel in Asia, they have a reputation to upkeep.

The building began as The Oriental back in the late 1800’s and, after building a reputation as one of the world’s greatest hotels for over a century, was taken over by the Mandarin Hotel group (now the Mandarin Oriental) in 1976. This stunning transformation has further enhanced the accommodations and facilities , while maintaining its classic, Thai-influenced elegance and unique resort style.
