A Cross-Country Road Trip Within Downtown Grand

Description

Today you embark on a culinary road trip across America. For New Orleans jambalaya. East Coast oysters. Chicken-fried bacon from… wherever that comes from. And you won’t even need to pack. As your destination is Freedom Beat, a sweeping celebration of edible/audible Americana with live bands, boilermakers and regional dishes from all over this beautiful country, now open 24 hours a day at Downtown Grand. Take a look around this place. The barn wood. The US flag fashioned from old LPs. That bewhiskered gentleman playing guitar. If this place were any more American, it’d be Bruce Springsteen. Which is impossible. Places can’t be people. And they don’t make bandannas big enough. Anyway, the man behind your pork belly benedict, housemade pastrami on rye and IPA burger is a Hell’s Kitchen winner. He suffered Gordon Ramsay so you and some friends could bite off a good chunk of this country’s gastronomic masterpieces. Meaning: hell yes, there are s’mores donuts and fried Twinkies on his menu. As to your refreshment, everyone’s likely to be neck-deep in boilermakers by the time the nightly band appears. Or maybe you all will just drink beer. Freedom is a beautiful thing.
