A Westlake Cocktail Lounge That Practically Defines Handsome

Description
Some places just get you.
Take The Library bar, for example. It’s a sophisticated new cocktail lounge with your next nightcap written all over it, and it opens today at the Mayfair Hotel in Westlake, just west of Downtown. Check it out.
If you know your local history, you’ll know this newly refreshed hotel hosted the first, unofficial Oscar’s after-party during the Prohibition era. Now, it will be hosting you with a date or some well-dressed friends over cocktails.Â
Perhaps the cocktails you’ll have before eating at the restaurant across the lobby or after a show at the Teragram or just amidst a night of acquiring drinks internally and burning the city to the ground.
You’ll pass one of Banksy’s rat paintings and into this rectangular haunt resembling a Soho bachelor pad chartered by Tom Ford—all dark marble and whiskey-toned leather with towering bookcases and a glossy piano under a perpetual witching-hour glow that says, “never leave, you are warm and safe here and we love you.”
On that note, you’ll be having something like the Little Sister with Kentucky bourbon, yellow chartreuse, apple spice syrup, smoky bitters and lemon.
Just make sure you have your phone charged. You’ll probably want a pic of that street-drug periodic table on the wall bought at Art Basel. The one containing real, actual street drugs and psychedelics.
Unless you’re getting sick of these things.
