Jim Meehan and Frank Lloyd Wright walk into a bar.

Well, maybe not Frank.

But Jim is there, surrounded by paned-glass walls and shaking his falling water-inspired cocktail. We’re talking about Prairie School, the latest Heisler Hospitality gem that combines world-class drinking with cues from the architectural legend. It looks like this.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the cocktail bar Fulton Market has been waiting for. A minimalistic entry, spotted with cubed tables, gives way to the Japanese teahouse-like lounge. It’s all meant to mimic the Prairie School design style that was a trademark of Wright’s, captured here in earth tones and clean lines.

Steel your nerves, get excited and have a seat in one of the high-back leather booths or at the stone-covered bar.

It’s at the latter where the man behind New York’s storied PDT offers the brandy Old Fashioned-adjacent Tall Boxes and pours chilled Japanese whisky from a Hoshizaki draft system. Have one, or both, all while snacking on duck paÌ‚te and crispy smelts prepared by chef Jared Wentworth.

Alright, Jim, you can stay a while.
