It’s never easy when a friend moves.
That moment when the truck pulls away, and you fight back that single tear while it gets smaller in the distance.
And then the brake lights go on and the truck starts unloading things into a place two blocks down.
But you’ll be okay. You’re going to be just fine.
It’s like with Nitecap, which just packed its bags and its superb cocktails and moved east on Rivington into the old 151 space. It’s open there now, and we thought you should know.
In the grand scheme of things, what this mostly means for you is more space. Where that gold stone wall used to be is now a row of booths. The old 151 wood paneling has been replaced with some darker walls and more Nitecap-y wallpaper.
So overall it’s just going to be a slight emotional adjustment—an adjustment assisted by a Triceratops (Avuá Prata and Amburana cachaças, Cynar, coconut cream, pineapple juice, absinthe and celery shrub) or two.
One piece of advice: if you never went into the old location with a bunch of people and nodded your heads enthusiastically at the suggestion of a six-person punch bowl, there’s a table especially good for that this time around.
Not nearly enough six-person-punch-bowl-sharing tables in this city nowadays.
