Description

The sun’s disappearing behind the skyline.

The summer night finally cooling down.

And you’re seated in a lush Chelsea garden, a platter piled high with oysters and langoustine in front of you, a happy date to your left with a frozen Negroni in hand.

…Or at least someone will be tonight at The Golden Hour, the new summer pop-up at the High Line Hotel from the folks behind Maison Premiere and Sauvage, now open for the season.

If you have eyes and appreciation for good food, which we believe you do, you’re already sold. So we’ll keep this short and sweet, with just a few facts to know before sending you on your weekend-ing way. Here goes…

—The space is all brass and palms and monochrome all over.
—Beard-winning bar director Will Elliot’s behind the cocktails, which run the gamut from plays on classic tiki drinks (the frozen Blue Kapalua’s got rum, fresh pineapple and curaçao) to the Pimm’s Golden Cup, with gin, ginger and borage.
—Why yes, the waiters are in custom-made French Riviera-inspired uniforms.
—A dozen rotating oysters, lobster rolls, fried whole belly clams… all your seafood cravings will be quelled here. Easily. Menu’s right here.

Now, to the weekend with you.

The Golden Hour at The High Line Hotel, 180 10th Ave (between 20th and 21st), 212-933-9735, see the menu
