This place has a pizza called the Tyson Punch Out.
The two of you should hit it off just fine.
But, believe it or not, there’s much else to explore about Pink Onion, a new Sicilian pizzeria from the Lo Coco’s people that soft-opens Monday for dinner at the intersection of SoMa and the Mission, and you can start by checking out the slideshow.
The first things you’ll notice upon entering are its murals and graffiti painted by neighborhood artists. Then you’ll smell things like steaming pepperoni and prosciutto and San Marzano tomatoes and eggplant because you’re in a pizza place.
Settle in at one of the two outdoor communal tables (if it’s actually nice), or inside at a table. Or, better yet, at the wooden bar, where you’ll decide among the 12 beers and six wines on tap like Lagunitas Aunt Sally and Rock Wall zin. There are no bottles here. We trust you’ll manage.
Once you’re settled, beverage in hand: pizza. That Tyson Punch Out with sausage, mushrooms and ricotta could work. As could the traditional Sicilian Bolognese or the Gringuito with carnitas, jalapeños and pickled onions. And lest you fear your lunch cries have fallen on deaf ears, they’ll have that soon, too.
