Last weekend involved Valentine’s Day.
This weekend involves You-Eating-Kobe-Beef-Meatballs-and-Drinking-Candied-Bacon-Old-Fashioneds Day.
…
We’re still working on the name.
Be that as it may, you’re invited to celebrate this made-up holiday at Alder & Birch, a very real, very woodsy, very protein-heavy steakhouse just one magnificent mile off the Strip at the Orleans. It’s open now, and these photos are lovely.
Your evening begins as the great ones so often do: in the richly decorated front lounge of a new Vegas restaurant, surrounded by a few carnivorous peers. The most observant among you will comment blithely on the antique cookbooks adorning the walls; the least observant will probably just go ahead and order those Kobe beef meatballs. God bless that guy.
When you’re ready for the main event, slide into one of the dining room’s semiprivate booths and request some wild Baja prawns. Then pick up your conversation regarding the presidential primaries, because semiprivacy is good for nothing if not discomfiting political debates and exotic crustaceans between friends.
From there, your night is all house-dried filet mignon, Australian lobster tails and smoked-maple-bourbon Old Fashioneds garnished with candied bacon.
Which we hear are polling at an all-time high.
