The Gables must’ve sacrificed something pretty great to the cocktail gods.
That, or this new place called 320 Gastrolounge just happened purely by accident.
Either way, it’s a new Latin-Asian situation bursting with shiso pisco drinks, vaca frita buns and the type of live music that always seems to accompany such things, soft-open now in the Gables. Take a look.
Post-work drinks. Late-night snacks. Both are situations in which this attractive Shops at Merrick Park hangout with living plant walls and Miami-themed art might come into play.
Start with something classic like an Old Fashioned at the rectangular bar up front. Better yet, opt for a drink created by Thomas Merolla of Blackbird Ordinary and Living Room fame. The Merrick’s Way with shiso-infused pisco and yuzu should do.
Dinner’s a patio affair, but if the weather calls for a 110% chance of soupy, a concrete table inside will be your best bet. Fill every square inch of one with delicious things like vaca frita buns and skirt steak croquettes from a former Piripi chef.
And that stage in the back corner—it’s for the live music that’ll be happening almost every day. Sometimes until 1am.
It works better if you pretend that’s a huge deal.
