A summer trip to Italy?

Do make a detour to Rossoblu. It’s the new northern Italian restaurant from Sotto’s Steve Samson, and it opens Wednesday in Downtown’s recently revealed City Market South.
It’s a large, modern Italian spot with all the glass windows, patio tables, refined private room seats and intentional dearth of rusticity that connotes. The type of Downtowner you’ll deploy when important people come to town and amaro is needed to loosen everyone up before negotiations/collaboration/more drinking can begin.
Your meal will look much like this. With fresh tortellini and other pastas formed by hand in the basement, where heritage meats are aged to become sausages and mortadella and coppa and felino and prosciutto and other things that feel good to say and eat.
You and your present company will enjoy these things with limoncello and powerful reds. With no one but you aware of what’s coming next: a virtual parade of proteins, including 40-day aged ribeye, Santa Barbara spot prawns, wood-grilled pork and aged duck.
