Actually, that’s exactly what we’re saying.
The latest: Kiki on the River, a lush, waterfront Greek spot from the people behind such marvels as B.E.D., Philippe Chow and the Opium Group. It opens Monday for lunch, and here’s the slideshow.
Reminisce upon those aforementioned SoBe haunts as you wander past meticulously scuffed tables, mix-and-match chairs and bougainvilleas. Those whitewashed walls? Part of this original 100-year-old converted fish market. That very impressed date? Yours.
The partially covered deck overlooking the river is new. As are the indoor velvet lounge chairs beckoning you to sit back, relax, peer out the floor-to-ceiling windows and enjoy a glass of ouzo mixed with fresh-pressed juice.
Should pair well with shared plates like fried cheese, arugula salad and preserved figs. It’s date food. But remember your surroundings. Being right on the water calls for things like charred octopus dressed with capers and olive oil. It’s okay to have the lamb chops, too. It’s a Greek spot, after all.
Oh, and no word yet on when, but they’re working on making gondola rides happen.
