Description
Let’s practice some Italian.
Spaghetti alle vongole. Bistecca al Pepe Nero. Chianti Classico.
Okay, lesson over. Now you’re ready to spend the evening with Nerano, a splashy new Italian restaurant and lounge in Beverly Hills dreamt up by the people behind Toscana. It opens tomorrow for dinner, and here it is in pictures.
Consider opening your date night by taking the private elevator up to the comely candlelit lounge, complete with red velvet couches, Italian sazeracs and crispy baby artichokes. That’s never a bad icebreaker.
After that, it’s back downstairs and into a curvy banquette designed to evoke the golden age of Italian sports cars for a perusal of the Amalfi Coast-inspired menu. The grilled spot prawns and black truffle pizzas start coming on hot and heavy while your Italian-import server whisks away to pluck something nice from the formidable wall of wines around the corner.
Will there be time for house-spun lemon sorbet and a glass of limoncello before the evening ends? There will. There really will be.
So have those. Have some more conversation. Just keep having things until there’s no more to be had.
Could be a long night.
