Hey.

Happy Monday.

We don’t mean to get pushy so soon, but there’s some urgent, pancake-related business that needs tending.

And we figure you’re the one to handle it.

Welcome Redwood Kitchenette & Bar, a new Chelsea diner with a West Coast vibe and a deceptively fearless menu, now open for lunch, dinner and brunch.

Imagine if someone took an Airstream trailer and parked it in a classic diner off Highway 1. You’d get something that looks like this place. Correction—you’d get exactly this place.

About that Airstream: it’s huge, it has a bar, and someday soon it will be where the housemade donuts are… housemade. For now, it functions as a kind of lunch counter on wheels, albeit one that’s serving up vodka mojitos and spiked milkshakes. (Standard procedure re: knockin’ and rockin’ applies.)

You’ll come here for brunch. Or for pre-MePa escapades. Or (soon) for post-MePa escapades. Basically, whenever a lobster roll slider might come in handy. And when you do, you’ll have an awe-inspiring list of challenges (aka a menu) whipped up by a graduate of that show Chopped. Which means: truffled disco fries. Herbed pancakes with peppered maple syrup. Chicken two ways—grilled in a brick oven and fried in buttermilk.

Both, incidentally, taste like chicken.
