The Remains of the Bay

The Remains of the Bay

Average Reviews

It’s not Hamptons season yet.

Not even close.

Which forces you to ask yourself, “What is Hamptons season, really, but a forced construct of times and locations where I can enjoy myself by escaping the cold, harsh realities of the canyon-like city I call home, while having the option to sit at an Adirondack-chair angle and wear as much white as possible?”

Or, you know, questions to that effect.

Consider Bay Kitchen Bar, an extravagant UES attempt to get you to eat seafood, from some nefarious minds out in the Hamptons. It’s open now, and don’t you fall for it. (Okay, fall hard.)

Bottom line: there’s one of these out in East Hampton. One with all kinds of bivalves and marinated fluke and bass that used to live in the sea. But hey, top line: now there’s one here.

It still looks pretty much like a place that’d be in a vacation zone, what with the herringbone floors and glass bottom that looks down into the wine cellar. But where normally you’d imagine partying into the wee hours of Flag Day with Daisy Sinclair, here you’ll…

Do that on a random Wednesday.
