Just send them to Cape Seafood and Provisions instead, a lovely sliver of a seafood market from the chef behind Providence and Connie & Ted’s. It’s opening Wednesday on Fairfax, here’s the slideshow, and here’s the menu.
While you were pouring some out for the dearly departed Lindy & Grundy, Michael Cimarusti was turning their space into a spotless, white-tiled market full of wild-caught fish in whole and filet form. Not to mention prime steaks and the kinds of things you’d serve with them when people come over. Anyway, that’s what this is now.
So swing by and peruse the ice-filled displays. Consider a parcel of the chef’s alderwood-smoked salmon, a whole black sea bass or John Dory, a handful of littlenecks, some canned wild albacore and a ready-to-go batch of the same chowder he serves at Connie & Ted’s.
And if there’s something specific you’re looking for, just talk to the staff and they’ll try to find it for you.
