The Factories of Life

The Factories of Life

Average Reviews

Description

You walk into a store.

You step around the guy stamping rivets, and the other guy cutting some leather straps.

And then, you…

Backing up for a second, you’re (probably) in Joshu+Vela, the factory that’s also a place where you can stop in and buy yourself a bag—it’s open now. And it looks like this.

You might’ve dropped by one of their pop-ups. You might’ve taken a spin around their website. But you are now cordially invited to stop by their factory. Really. Even though you might feel like you’re intruding when you step inside and see people working.

Just remember. They’re making bags here. And they like it when you buy them. You’re not intruding.

So. Around you, people will be emailing and stamping rivets and cutting leather straps and moving tape measures around. On the white walls: a bunch of pegs. On the pegs: day packs, duffel bags and totes. Dopp kits. Wallets on a table.

It’s a lot of the stuff you’d find on the website. But you might talk them into customizing. And anyway, you can’t touch the straps on a website, or put a page view in your pocket to see how it feels.

Not yet, anyway.
