There’s no mistaking the swagger of the SLS Beverly Hills, a hotel that occupies a unique place at the intersection of Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, hospitality and the nightlife and the celebrity and civilian worlds. Its all-star roster includes designer Philippe Starck, who rendered the interiors with cheeky baroque abandon, and José Andrés, whose sprawling restaurant Bazaar serves the molecularly-engineered Spanish cuisine that made him famous.
The surprisingly subtle rooms boast earth tone palettes, white leather headboards, and mod furniture softly lit by custom fixtures. The pool, ringed by cabanas and beautiful people, is less low-key but no less enjoyable for the views, both of people and of landscape.
